Abstract

A post-processed GNSS solution from raw GNSS data acquired from a vehicle and optionally other sources is dynamically calculated at the epoch level without using a Kalman filter. Instead, a plurality of GNSS processing methods is applied to each epoch in either the forward or backward direction and the most accurate solution for each epoch of the forward generated solution and backward generated solution is combined. The combined post-processed GNSS solution is determined based on which of the GNSS processing methods were used to generate an epoch of the forward solution and a corresponding epoch of the backward solution.

Abstract

Fiducial markers (reference marks and associated tracing codes) are applied to sheet materials such as electrodes, paper, plastics, and fabrics and serve as reference points along the machine direction. As the sheet advances, tracing codes are recorded to create a database of tracing codes and as a physical property of the sheet of material is measured a measurement profile is recorded wherein measurements of the physical property are synchronized with the tracing codes from the database so that different portions of the measurement profile are associated with one or more accompanying tracing codes. Customers can match measurements made during production to finished products such as electrochemical batteries so that defects found at a later stage of production can be traced to the source measurements to achieved improved quality assurance. The reference marks facilitate alignment among measurements made by different scanners especially on discontinuous batch processes that require resetting and rethreading.

Abstract

Areal weight or thickness of a moving coated metal sheet along its entire cross directional width is derived by correlating thermographic image data to online, scanning basis weight measurements. Thermal imaging camera captures thermal images of a heated moving coated metal sheet material along a cross direction at a first position along the machine direction to generate sequential temperature profiles. Scanning beta gauge measures the areal weight of the moving coated metal sheet downstream at a second position. An infrared temperature sensor also measures the temperature of the moving coated metal sheet which is at a lower temperature at or near the second position. The temperature differential between the cross directional thermographic image data and the latter infrared temperature is a function of the basis weight. Basis weight measurements from the beta gauge is used to extrapolate cross directional basis weight data.

Abstract

A signal is received from an occupancy sensor each time a person passes through an access point corresponding to a building space, and is identified as indicating a person either entering or exiting the building space. An occupancy count is maintained for each of the building spaces by incrementing the occupancy count when the signal indicates a person entering and decrementing the occupancy count when the signal indicates a person exiting. A determination is made as to whether the occupancy count for any of the building spaces of the plurality of building spaces has reached a threshold for the corresponding building space. Action is taken in response to determining that the occupancy count for any of the building spaces of the plurality of building spaces has reached the threshold for that particular building space.

Abstract

H212228-CA ABSTRACT A simulation system includes independent processing units each having a processor, memory, and a mathematical solver. An additional independent processing unit has an additional memory storing a predictive simulation model that includes equations relating manipulated variables, orchestration logic, and a master optimization solver. The orchestration logic initiates the additional independent processing unit distributing to each independent processing unit concurrent timing information, instructions to each perturb one manipulated variable, and values for the manipulated variables. The independent processing units concurrently execute the predictive model to perturb their manipulated variable to calculate derivatives for each manipulated variable. The additional independent processing unit receives the derivatives, calculates new variable values for each manipulated variable using the derivatives, and then runs the predictive model with the new variable values. The master optimization solver evaluates simulation results obtained from the predictive model using the new variable values relative to an objective. 18 Date Recue/Date Received 2020-11-19

Abstract

The present subject matter provides technical solutions for the technical problems facing cryogenic ion traps by providing a cryogenic radio-frequency (RF) resonator that is compact, monolithic, modular, and impedance-matched to a cryogenic ion trap. The cryogenic RF resonator described herein is power- efficient, properly impedance-matched to the RF source, has a stable gain profile, and is compatible with a low temperature and ultra-high vacuum environment. In some examples, the gain profile is selected so that the cryogenic RF resonator acts as a cryogenic RF amplifier. This cryogenic RF resonator improves the performance of ion traps by reducing or minimizing the heat load and reducing or minimizing the unwanted noise that may erroneously drive trapped ions. These features of the present subject matter improve the performance of atomic clocks and mass spectrometers, and especially improve the performance of trapped ion quantum computers.
