Abstract

The disclosed technology provides accurate arrival alerts to a destination. In some embodiments the disclosed technology utilizes a destination specific model that can take into account location specific factors such as traffic around the destination, best approaches to the destination, other likely intermediate stops on the way to the destination, etc. In some embodiments, the present technology aims to provide an arrival alert to the destination at a consistent time interval prior to a user arriving at the destination.

Abstract

Exemplary methods, apparatuses, and systems receive a browsing request to view an item offered by a first third party retailer. An estimated inventory value for the item at the first third-party retailer is retrieved. The estimated inventory value is maintained using a combination of a history of purchases of the item and a history of inventory values for the item received from one or more third party retailers. A representation of the item as being available for purchase is transmitted to a user device based upon the estimated inventory value for the item. In response to receiving a request to initiate a purchase of the item, a request for a current inventory value for the item is transmitted to a retail server. The purchase of the item is initiated in response to determining the item is available based upon the received current inventory value.

Abstract

Exemplary methods, apparatuses, and systems receive an indication that an order associated with a user account is ready for pickup. One or more messages to a user device associated with the user account are transmitted in response to the received indication that the order is ready. The one or more messages include identification of the order as being ready for pickup, a pickup location for the order, and a threshold distance from the pickup location for the order. Location data is received at a limited interval from a user device while the user device is outside of the threshold distance from the pickup location. Location data is received at a more frequent interval than the limited interval while the user device is within the threshold distance. The location data is transmitted to a local pickup device to trigger an alert when the user device is approaching the pickup location.
