Abstract

Exemplary table-top sanitizer dispensers and dip tube separation members are disclosed herein. An exemplary table-top sanitizer dispenser includes a container. The container has a neck that has an inside diameter. The container having an annular wall extending outward from the base of the neck. The table-top dispenser has pump that has a pump housing. The pump housing has an annular retention member at the bottom of the housing. A nozzle is secured to the pump housing. A closure is also secured to the pump housing. The table-top dispenser further includes a dip tube. The dip tube is secured to the annular retention member. A dip tube separation member extending outward from the dip tub is also included. The dip tube separation member has a biased state and an unbiased state. In the biased state the dip tube separation member has a diameter that is smaller than the inside diameter of the neck. When the separation member moves toward its unbiased state, the separation member is wider than the inside diameter of the neck. When the dip tube is connected to the annular retention member and the separation member is located inside of the container, removing the closure and the pump from the container causes the dip tube to separate from the annular retention member and the dip tube remains in the container.

Abstract

A method for operating a fluid dispenser is provided. The method includes receiving, by the fluid dispenser, an interrogation signal from a remote electronic device, and in response to receiving the interrogation signal, transmitting, by the fluid dispenser and to the remote electronic device, an identification of a fluid type of the fluid stored within the fluid dispenser. The method further includes dispensing fluid from the fluid dispenser in response to an actuation request and based upon a fluid-specific setting received from the remote electronic device. A method for programming a fluid dispenser is also provided. The method includes detecting, by a remote electronic device, a fluid type of a fluid stored within the fluid dispenser, and transmitting one of a first fluid-specific setting and a second fluid-specific setting to the fluid dispenser based upon a detected fluid type of fluid stored within the fluid dispenser.

Abstract

A method and device for indicating whether a dispensable product will require refilling prior to the next scheduled service interval includes tracking the amount of use over a first interval, and calculating a frequency based from the use over the first interval. The quantity remaining is compared with the required amount, which is the product of the number of weeks in the service interval and the calculated frequency. Thus, when the quantity remaining is less that the required amount, a warning will be provided to indicate that the dispensing product should be replaced, as it will be empty before the next service interval.

Abstract

An exemplary dispensing system includes a dispenser, an actuator, a sensor, and a controller. The dispenser includes a container for holding liquid, a liquid pump, an air pump, an outlet nozzle, and a foaming media. The actuator causes the dispenser to dispense liquid or foam. The sensor generates an input signal indicative of a status of the container. The controller receives the input signal, generates at least one output signal, and prevents the dispenser from dispensing liquid or foam if a breach is detected in the container.

Abstract

One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for providing power to a plurality of dispensers. For example, a supply coupler, such as an alternating current to direct current power converter, is coupled to an energy storage component and/or a load coupler of a power distribution apparatus. The supply coupler provides power over the load coupler to one or more dispensers for operation. The supply coupler provides power to the energy storage component for energy storage. Responsive to a load on the power distribution apparatus exceeding a supply current of the power provided by the supply coupler (e.g., multiple dispensers may attempt to perform concurrent dispense events), the energy storage component may discharge energy to provide additional power to one or more dispensers to facilitate concurrent dispense events. Because the power distribution apparatus may connect to multiple dispensers, a cord management device may be used for power cord management.

Abstract

Among other things, a dispensing device is described herein. A sensor component of the dispensing device includes an emitter (e.g., of an emitter array) in optical communication with a detector array for sensing objects disposed between the emitter and the detector array. An object detector is configured to identify a presence of an object between the emitter and the detector array based upon a readout signal generated by the detector array. A calibration component is configured to recalibrate the object detector responsive to determining that an obstruction is present between the emitter and the detector array. The recalibration allows the detector array and the emitter array to detect the presence of an object regardless of the obstruction. A material (e.g., soap, sanitizer, etc.) may be dispensed from the dispensing device responsive to detecting the presence of the object.

Exemplary methods of and system for generating an antimicrobial wipe to clean and disinfect a surface contaminated with bacteria, viruses, spores, fungi, or combinations thereof. In some embodiments, the method includes applying non-thermal plasma to a moistened wipe to activate a liquid in the wipe. In some embodiments, the method includes applying non-thermal plasma to a liquid and then applying the activated liquid to a wipe. In one embodiment of a system for generating an antimicrobial wipe the system includes a housing having an opening; a supply of wipes disposed within the housing; a non-thermal plasma generator disposed within the housing; a power supply electrically coupled to the non-thermal plasma generator; and a feed system disposed within the housing, wherein the feed system moves one or more wipes from the supply of wipes past the plasma generator and out of the opening. As the feed system moves the wipes past the plasma generator, the plasma generator applies non-thermal plasma to the wipes.

Abstract

Compliance modules for fluid dispensers are disclosed herein. Exemplary embodiments of the compliance modules include a housing, a processor, memory, wireless communication circuitry and voltage monitoring circuitry for detecting a change in voltage of a dispenser power supply. The processor, memory and voltage monitoring circuitry are located within the housing. A connector for electrically connecting the module to a power supply of the dispenser is also included. The compliance module receives power from the dispenser. The processor determines a dispense event has occurred as a function of a change in voltage detected by the voltage monitoring circuitry. The processor causes the wireless communication circuitry to transmit a signal indicative of a dispense event.

Abstract

A radio frequency identification (RFID) dispenser that includes low cost electronic components that can read and write to the tag of a refill cartridge. In one embodiment, the reader utilizes a multi band pass filter to convert the radio frequency identification into a digital signal that is processed by a controller to perform a dispensing function representative to the code of the tag. In another embodiment, the controller utilizes an internal comparator to convert the radio frequency identification into a digital signal that is processed by a controller to perform a dispensing function representative to the code of the tag. The dispenser in both embodiments also includes a pair of transistors that write to the RFID tag of the refill cartridge. A dispenser according to the invention also includes the capability to read and/or write to tags upon cartridges employed by the dispenser, and augmenting the operation of the dispenser as a function thereof. Additionally, a dispenser of variable size is presented that is adaptable, through adjustable partitions or a telescoping cup, to receive and maintain cartridges of various sizes.

Abstract

Exemplary systems and methods associated with activating fluids using indirect plasma. In particular, liquid can be activated to high concentrations and at high volumes by thinning and mixing the liquid as it is exposed to the plasma, resulting more efficient activation. Further increases in activation can be reached by re-circulating fluid for additional exposure to the plasma. High flow rates can be achieved with integrated systems that utilize multiple activation systems with coordinated control.

Abstract

One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for automatically forming a wireless sensor network, implementing power management for the wireless sensor network, and/or self-healing within the wireless sensor network. For example, hub devices, configured to forward messages through the wireless sensor network to a gateway device having access to a network, may automatically join and configure into the wireless sensor network by locating and connecting to master devices using signal frequencies representing numbers of hops to the gateway device. A hub device may be configured to transition between a low power sleep state for power conservation and an awakened normal operational state for transmitting timing signals according to a duty cycle, and thus the hub device may be capable of operating from a battery. If a hub device determines that a master device has become inoperable, the hub device may automatically search for a new master device.
