Abstract

A lock bolt assembly (100) includes a bolt body (102) comprising metal and having a proximal end area (180), a distal end area (108), and a circumferential locking groove (114). A locking cylinder (104) comprises metal and has an inner cylinder bore (128) including a cylinder locking feature (136). The cylinder locking feature (136) and the locking groove (114) are arranged to be irreversibly coupled to each other when the bolt body (102) is fully received in the inner cylinder bore (128). A transparent cap member (138) is connected to the locking cylinder (104) that includes an axial bore (140). The cap member (138) defines a locking abutment (142) in the axial bore (140) and at least one keyway (144) substantially vertically aligned with the locking abutment (142). A bolt body casing (116) is permanently attached to the bolt body (102) and defines at least one key element (120) situated in the at least one keyway (144) and a locking finger (118) engaging the locking abutment (142) in an irreversible manner when the locking groove (114) is irreversibly coupled to the cylinder locking feature (136).

Abstract

A rotary security seal assembly (10) is disclosed for sealing container closures, meters, equipment and various other articles. The assembly (10) is configured to reveal surreptitious entry or attempted access into or to a sealed area or article and comprises a housing body (12) and a locking filament (16). The housing body (10) includes a socket and a housing locking filament receiving bore (46) extending at least in part through the housing body (12) and intersecting the socket. The locking filament (16) has a first end area and a second end area. The first end area (44) of the locking filament is permanently secured to the housing body by hardened molding material forming the housing body. The second end area of the locking filament (44) is dimensioned and configured to be received in and extended at least in part through the housing locking filament receiving bore leaving a continuous locking filament loop outside the housing body when so received.

Abstract

Security seal using a captured lock wire for sealing a device includes a locking insert that fits closely within a central cavity of an outer body and is locked within the outer body against removal without visible damage to the insert or the outer body using locking fingers on the insert that cooperate with locking abutments in the cavity. A lock wire is secured at one end to the locking insert or the outer body in a manner preventing its separation from either of them and a free end of the lock wire is threaded through apertures and grooves in the insert and outer body after being secured to a device to be sealed in a secured manner such that the wire cannot be separated from the security seal without causing visible damage to the seal or wire.

Abstract

A security seal (100, 200) has an outer body (102, 202), a locking insert (120, 220), and a shackle (150, 250). The locking insert (120, 220) and shackle (150, 250) are received within a cavity (108, 208) of the outer body (102, 202) to be locked therein. Once the locking insert (120, 220) is engaged with the outer body (102, 202), they cannot be disengaged without showing evidence of the disengagement. The evidence of the disengagement can be in the form of damage to any component of the security seal (100, 200), in the form of mismatching of marked components of the security seal (100, 200), or in any other suitable form showing evidence of the disengagement.
